There are many people in or surrounding that eat non stop and become fatty because they overeat and take food in high amounts without any restriction of gaining weight and diet plan. Binge eating disorder is also a serious illness in which people take the large and heavy amount of meal continuously and face different health issues.

All disorders have some symptoms that show the severity of these disorders in people according to the medical scale. The symptoms specify the disorders but most of the symptoms may be same like anxiety, depression, and stress etc. But following are the symptoms that specifically shows the binge eating disorder in a person.
Overeating And Lack Of Control
Overeating is the symptom of binge eating in people and it also helps to identify the disorder. Overeating is also harmful to the health because it imbalances our homeostatic conditions and the extra fats can be accumulated in our body.People overeat and lose their control during eating, therefore, lack of self-control on eating is also a symptom of binge eating disorder. The person eats a continuously heavy meal and does not even take a breath during eating. This shows the binge eating in a person and it effects psychological health badly in additional to the physical health and fitness.
Role Of Depression
Depression shows the binge eating disorder also and it is a serious cause of this disorder. Depression plays an important role in making a person abnormal because the hopes and aims end and during depression people think about suicidal attempts. They also face psychological problems and dissatisfaction after binge eating. They eat randomly without thinking of any danger and harm that can badly effect their physical as well as psychological health. Therefore, depression is directly linked to any abnormality including binge eating. A depress person does not care about the life, health and proper routine of a healthy life style. They just want to get rid of everything that causes depression so depression is a major cause of binge eating.
Condition Of Grief
The condition of grief also shows the binge eating disorder because it causes the abnormal routine of eating and episodic anxiety. It also disturbs the normal sleep and causes sleep sickness. The body temperature is disturbed a lot and also the level of blood pressure could exceed the normal levels like it may suddenly increase or decrease.Grief also creates binge eating. Breathing rate may be increased or decreased suddenly. So these all conditions are included in the grief that is the major symptom of binge eating.
Self-Hatred And Irritating Behaviors
The behavior also plays an important role in disturbance and this symptom also shows the binge eating disorder in people. The self-hating behavior creates the binge eating and person feels irritated about one self. This irritation and self hate leads to binge eating that creates severity and abnormality in people.
Shame and feeling of guilt are also responsible for binge eating in a person and these are also serious symptoms of this disorder. The low self-esteem makes a person weak and hopeless from inside therefore, there daily routine becomes bored and dull. The interest in activities of life decreases gradually and all routines including, diet, work, and enjoyment with friends also got disturbed.
Anxiety is also a symptom of binge eating disorder because it disturbs the relaxed state of mind and diverts attention from normal activities. So anxiety plays a major role in creating the binge eating. Anxiety also has harmful effects on the body because it disturbs the normal functioning by creating the mental illness in people.
As treatment of everything is possible then binge eating disorder also have some effective and beneficial treatments which are helpful in reducing the symptoms and makes a person healthier to compete with problems of life. These treatments are illustrated below.
Medication is the best way to overcome the binge eating disorder symptoms because certain medicines are discovered to treat the binge eating disorder and these medicines are approved by FDA.
The medicine Lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse) is used for treating the binge eating disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in people.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is also used to treat the binge eating disorder because in this therapy the behavior is treated with the cognition and modification of behavior is possible.
The cognition is related to the thoughts and thinking and if the negative thoughts come to mind and disturb normal life then these negative thoughts are removed by this therapy.
Interpersonal psychotherapy is used to resolve the issues that relate to personal relationships and problems. The personal problems that create depression and anxiety are tried to solve out through this therapy so the client may relax and releases stress from mind.
The problems related to personal life are resolved out and relationships with other people are balanced through this therapy to maintain the psychological well being and to reduce symptoms of disorders. The main focus of this therapy is to give a social support to the client to reduce the stress and anxiety.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical behavior therapy is used to stable the mood and also to solve many issues that are related to mood swings. Its main focus is to change the behavior towards anything. For example, some behaviors and thinking are dangerous for psychological conditions like suicidal thoughts and excessive negativity etc. so these negative thoughts are converted into positive and hopeful behaviors.
Consequences of binge eating disorder are following.
- Binge eating disorder is the most common disorder in United State and other countries and it is present in people of all ages.
- It also refers to the overeating, lack of self-control and feeling of shame and guilt after taking a heavy meal in large amounts.
- APA releases the revised edition of DSM that clarifies that binge eating is the disorder as it’s many effects on an affected person and the people who have binge eating disorder did not pay attention towards control of weight and diet plan.
