Causes of phobia may include the stressful situation. It’s not clear that why some phobias occur. Types of phobia may include simple or specific phobia and complex phobia. Some causes of phobia are following.
Many types of research show that certain phobias may present in the families. For example, twins may develop in different area or location but they can have the same phobia. Similarly, relatives do not have same conditions.
Genetics play a very important role in transferring many characteristics from parents to offspring’s. Many disorders and illnesses can run within families.

Phobia can cause severe anxiety and depression and it may limit your daily life activities. Complex phobia like agoraphobia and social phobia can cause symptoms in the people. People who suffer from phobia usually avoid the situation that creates fear and anxiety in them.
People with a phobia can suffer from panic attacks and anxiety. Panic attacks can be very frightening for a person who suffers from a phobia. Symptoms of phobia are following.
Rapid Heartbeat (Tachycardia)
A fast heartbeat that is more than 100 called tachycardia and it may depend upon age or physical situations. Tachycardia is a type of heart disorder in which the heartbeat exceeds than normal rate. It is normal if your heartbeat rises in during exercise, trauma or stressful situation.
But if it happens much time regularly than it can lead to heart failure, stroke, sudden cardiac arrest or death. Fear can produce fast heartbeat or tachycardia in people.
Symptoms of tachycardia include chest pain, shortness of breath, rapid pulse rate, fainting and heart palpitations. Excessive fear leads to a heart disorder. Types of tachycardia are following.
- Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT).
- Ventricular tachycardia.
- Ventricular fibrillation.
Breathlessness Or Shortness In Breathing
Shortness of breathing can occur due to muscle twitching or asthma attack. Fear plays a very important role in the shortness of breath. When a person is suffering from excessive fear then heartbeat becomes faster and shortness of breath can occur.
Fear can produce anxiety that may lead to panic attacks. Panic attacks can also cause shortness of breath in many people.
Fear Of Dying
Fear of dying is also called thanatophobia which is the fear of death of own self and it is different from necrophobia which includes the fear of death of another person or objects. People can suffer from the phobia of death.
It may occur due to their childhood experiences when they suddenly saw a death of any person or they experience a terrifying moment that can cause their own death. Symptoms of thanatophobia are following.
- Dizziness can occur.
- Breath becomes shorter.
- Stomach pain can occur.
- Sweating may occur due to anxiety.
- Feeling of nausea may occur.
- People become sensitive to hot or cold temperature.
Sweating is also a symptom of phobia. It may occur due to excessive and irrational fear. Anxiety and panic attacks can cause an imbalance in blood pressure, therefore, unusual sweating may occur. During anxiety the nerves trigger the nervous system, which results in sweating.
Nervous sweating is called hyperhidrosis that may occur from anxiety because it can activate the body to cause a stress response that increases the sweating rate in the body.
Butterflies In The Stomach
When blood flow reduces in the organ then people may feel fluttery in the stomach or butterflies in the stomach. Anxiety disturbs the digestive system then many symptoms can arise that cause imbalance in the digestion. Stomach become extra-sensitive during the fight or flight response that’s why butterflies in the stomach can occur.
Hot flushes can be produced from phobia in the people. It is the feeling of heat that can run throughout the body. People with hot flushes can feel sweating, flushing of face or palpitations. These hot flushes can be severe because it can interfere your sleep.
The timing of hot flushes is 20 second to 10 minutes. After hot flush people may experience shaking, dizziness and headaches. It usually occurs in women because it is the symptom of menopause.
